An award-winning classic, Cluck & Squeal Rib Formula was designed with a lower salt content, allowing you to season generously without overpowering the meat. Created to bring out the best in BBQ ribs, this rub delivers balanced flavour that pairs beautifully with sweet, spicy, or even espresso notes.
Usage & Tips
Ribs: Dry marinate and let rest 1–2 hours before cooking. (Pro tip: apply a light mustard coat first to help the rub adhere.) Cook your way — smoked, baked, low and slow, or in the slow cooker. Finish with a drizzle of pure amber maple syrup and a dusting of Rib Formula for a sweet, sticky glaze that eliminates the need for sauce.
Pairs with: our Maple Apple Butter BBQ Sauce. After seasoning with Rib Formula finish with our MAB Sauce. The buttery maple sweetness fuses with the rub’s savoury notes, caramelizing beautifully for ribs that are smoky, sweet, and unforgettable.
Beyond Ribs: Sprinkle on pork belly, chicken wings, thighs, fish, or shrimp. It also shines in soups, stews (especially coconut-based), dips, and even roasted vegetables.
Turn Up the Heat: Pair Rib Formula with “Tasty Hot” and our Seasoned Salt blend to add a layered kick of spice.

Ok. I found this seasoning when I lived in Hamilton. Got it from Highland meatpackers and I have used it for a couple years. Now I moved away and thank God I can order it directly online. I use it for my air fryer wings, and pork dishes. I love the heat and flavor it brings. I love how it has zero preservatives and no salt so I can control to my taste.
I also love how its not mass produced. Even though im not local anymore I still support local, and will continue to buy the seasoning for years to come.
